The Inpatient Medical Support Assistant (MSA)
Functions as an initial point of contact for the VAMC inpatient ward units.
Duties- Coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Verifying doctor's orders and treatment orders for completeness and accuracy of all actions/documentation.
- Utilizing computerized data entry, information processing systems, and software related to patient care.

This occupational series may be eligible for the Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP). Repayment is limited to $40,000 annually, up to $100,000 in lifetime awards.
