Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the CFO, this position provides accounting support for the organization. This position will be responsible for clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments and prepare accounting statements and financial reports. The employee will deal with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. The employee will also answer non‑routine correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information.
Position-specificDuties & Responsibilities
- Prepares financial reports and various accounting statements.
- Posts journal entries to general ledger as directed or assigned.
- Generates summary sheets for use by supervisor, other staff or auditor.
- Processes receipts and prepares necessary vendor/Contractor payment reports.
- Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
- Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
- Monitors the financial records of an assigned accounting area, including but not limited to account coding and department segmentation, as applicable.
- Assists department leadership with financial and budget procedures.
- Reconciles department reports, including but not limited to bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts as assigned.
- Prepares and shares periodic financial statements and reports for internal use or external use for funders, financial or other agencies.
- Assist with outside auditors with including but not limited to gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Review costs and other data for relevance and trends, for assigned accounting area.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Education:
High School Diploma required, Associates degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred. - Experience:
1-3 years accounting, especially reporting preferred. - Language:
English as a primary language. - Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday 8a-5p. - Travel:
Local as required. - Exposure:

Additionally, the employee may rarely be exposed to blood borne and other hazardous chemicals. Finally, the noise level in the work environment can occasionally be quite loud.
