Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska, on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in accounting records, and supporting organizational goals within the non-profit sector. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in accounting while contributing to meaningful work.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

- Conduct regular bank reconciliations to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies.

- Analyze financial reports and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies while maintaining accurate documentation.

- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency.

- Monitor and maintain financial records, ensuring their accuracy and completeness.

- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support strategic planning initiatives.

- Identify and resolve issues related to accounting processes or discrepancies.

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.

- Proficiency in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

- Solid understanding of journal entries and bank reconciliation processes.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and reports.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools used for financial management.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance standards.
