The ROLE - Detail General Accounting & Month-End Close
  • Prepare and perform detailed account reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
  • Lead bank reconciliations across multiple entities and ensure timely resolution of open items.
  • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, variance analysis, and financial package preparation.
  • Maintain documentation to support audit requirements and internal controls.
Construction Project Accounting
  • Track and analyze construction project costs, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Review contractor invoices, lien waivers, and project spend to ensure accuracy / proper coding.
Intercompany Accounting
  • Prepare intercompany journal entries, allocations, and eliminations.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances across multiple subsidiaries and ensure timeliness.
  • Support cash movement between entities and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
Accounts Payable Review & Support
  • Review AP transactions for accuracy, correct coding, and compliance with approval workflows and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Support vendor onboarding, ACH set‑ups, and payment run reviews as needed.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Drive process enhancements and automation initiatives to streamline accounting.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, look‑ups, formulas, data modeling) to analyze financial data.
  • Participate in system upgrades, new module implementations, and best‑practice design (Netsuite ERP).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 36+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a preference for experience in multi‑entity environments, construction, or real estate development.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP and multi‑entity/intercompany accounting principles.
  • Proven, hands‑on experience with core accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and managing close processes.
