James Mackle Ltd, a leading apple processor based in Moy, Co. Tyrone, is seeking a Food Technologist to join our Technical team. • Develop and maintain raw material and finished product specifications, quality attribute documents, and related technical documentation.
• Liaise with customers regarding specifications and technical requirements.
• Support the site Allergen Management Programme, ensuring compliance with legal and customer standards.
• Collect, analyse, and report data on key performance indicators, including customer complaints and quality trends.
• Work cross‑functionally with production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and met.
• Manage customer information on specification and data management systems.
• Prepare, collect, and dispatch product samples to customers.
• Conduct product checks and inspections to ensure compliance with agreed specifications.
• Support New Product Development activities, including final product approval and launches.
• Review artwork prior to product launches to ensure accuracy, legality, and compliance.
• Carry out regular production room audits in line with BRC certification.

• A third‑level qualification (or equivalent) in a food‑related discipline is desirable.
• Previous experience in a technical role within food manufacturing is advantageous.
• Previous experience with BRC an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organised, self‑motivated, and detail‑focused, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Competent IT skills and experience using technical or specification systems.
