Machine Learning Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and build scalable AI/ML solutions for a variety of mission-critical applications. This role is hybrid, on-site 2 days a week in Washington, DC (Navy Yard Metro Station).

Candidates must be local to Washington, D.C. and must be eligible to obtain a public trust clearance with the Department of Transportation.

• Design, build, and train machine learning systems and AI agents
• Implement and develop Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, and AI agent architectures/use cases
• Deploy ML solutions, monitor performance, and test model accuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to align ML pipelines
• Document artifacts, processes, and performance outcomes
• Mentor junior team members

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in ML engineering
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, Tensor Flow, Databricks, PySpark, MLflow, etc.
• Experience with AWS data infrastructure and Dev Ops workflows, S3, EC2, Lambda, Sage Maker, etc.
• Experience with deep learning techniques, LLMs, RAGs, AI Agents
