The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) serves the state by supporting agriculture through service, regulation, and advocacy. Our work protects consumers, public health, and the environment while supporting agricultural viability in Washington State. We work with farmers and ranchers and touch the lives of people locally, nationally, and abroad.
The NRAS program operates at the interface between agricultural production and environmental quality. The program provides evidence-based programming to support Washington’s agricultural production, public well-being, and ecological health. Research topics include agricultural land use practices, pesticide usage, agricultural chemicals in water, soil health, water availability, and climate change. NRAS aims to protect public health and the environment while supporting agricultural viability across Washington’s diverse cropping systems.
Position:
Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences (NRAS) Program Manager within the AES Division of WSDA. This role has four direct reports and oversight of staff under those supervisors. Primary duties include supporting NRAS SMEs in strategic planning, study design, funding procurement and budget management, impact tracking, and operational efficiency. The role may represent NRAS in local, state, and federal work groups and with industry and other agricultural stakeholders.
Location:
Office-based; report to WSDA Headquarters in Olympia or Yakima, Washington. This position is non-represented.
Base pay: $71,004 – $130,320 annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.
