2026 Summer College Internship Program for Finance - Harbor Foods Group

An internship will provide exposure to both the cultural and systemic elements of a successful business practice, as well as foster critical and analytical thinking skills, improve interpersonal relations within the area of students’ interest, and provide an opportunity to observe and learn the intricacies of a business environment in which they are immersed. Harbor internships may also increase a desire to discover new areas of interest and innovation that potentially remain with the student as they move through their college experience into an actual business environment.

** Harbor Internships are onsite positions in Lacey, WA for students with existing residence in the south Puget Sound region, WA**

Education and Experience:

• Must be a recent graduate within the  academic year, or actively working towards a bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting or Finance
• GPA 3.0 or higher
• Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting/finance courses and a basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
• Intermediate Excel course completion

Compensation: $20/hour

Essential Job Functions:

• Shadowing members of the Finance department as they perform their duties
• Learning to work as part of the team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support company’s accounting and finance office operations
• Learning about and utilizing the company ERP system
• Assisting with financial reporting via data entry & variance analysis
• Working with various departments across the organization to improve & maintain capital expenditure tracking
• Facilitating cost savings by helping team understand the cost of asset acquisition vs. leasing
• Assisting with profit modeling by helping identify the variable costs of the business
• Various research projects and other duties as assigned by manager

• Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges
• Communication abilities with aptitude in problem solving
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to write business correspondence using correct grammar and spelling
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
• Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, strong 10-key and keyboarding skills required
• Ability to be accurate and take directions
• Good time management and task orientation
• Ability to work well with other team members to foster a respectful and professional work environment
