The Electrical Supervisor provides technical and people leadership across electrical maintenance, controls, and plant infrastructure to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This role works closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure electrical systems support continuous production from raw materials through finished goods. The Electrical Supervisor directly leads plant electricians and oversees electrical construction, modifications, and equipment installations.
Key Responsibilities Electrical & Controls Leadership- Apply electrical theory and controls expertise to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve plant electrical systems
- Oversee installation, modification, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures and implement preventive and corrective actions
- Develop and maintain electrical diagrams, drawings, and specifications for plant systems
- Plan, schedule, and document periodic testing and inspections of electrical systems
- Recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, and system improvements to enhance reliability
- Support process control systems and plant automation platforms
- Ensure facility power distribution systems operate safely and effectively
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate plant electricians
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with plant safety standards
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous skill development within the electrical team
- Manage electrical aspects of plant construction, capital projects, and equipment installations
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support daily operations
- Provide technical support during off-shifts, shutdowns, and emergency situations as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in high-speed manufacturing environments
- Prior supervisory or lead experience within electrical or maintenance teams
- Motor controls, VFDs, DC drives, and PLC installation and programming
- Process control systems and instrumentation calibration
- AutoCAD or similar software for electrical design and documentation
- Facility utilities and infrastructure systems including power distribution, compressed air, water, hydraulics, and HVAC
- Familiarity with ERP, maintenance, and inventory systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills
- Effective leadership, communication, and employee relations abilities
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong time management, project coordination, and multitasking skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
