Over the past eight years OCS has supported more than 400 households and dozens of commercial building owners such as non-profit organizations, public entities, and Tribes to install clean energy technologies.
ProgramOverview
The Safe Housing and Rental Efficiency (SHARE) Accelerator ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is a City of Olympia pilot program, developed through a partnership with Olympia Community Solar (OCS) that aims to connect owners of affordable rental housing within city limits to funding, information and resources that will streamline energy efficiency as well as health and safety retrofits for their properties. Program goals include:
- Improving the quality and energy efficiency of Olympia’s existing rental housing stock
- Streamlining compliance with Olympia’s Rental Registry and Inspection program
- Maintaining housing affordability and reducing energy burdens for renters
In July 2023 the City and OCS were awarded funds for the SHARE Accelerator Concept Application as part of the United States Department of Energy (US DOE) Buildings Upgrade Prize (BUP Prize). In , the City and OCS worked on developing a SHARE Accelerator Pilot program with the goal of supporting retrofits for 10 affordable rental units within the City of Olympia.
Throughout implementation of the SHARE Accelerator Pilot, OCS is providing services to the City of Olympia as the primary client-facing program administrator. This includes coordinating building assessments, delivering comprehensive building upgrade reports to program participants, tracking various program performance metrics, and providing project management support to building owners.
Position OverviewThe Program Administrator will serve as the primary point of contact for participants in an SHARE Accelerator Program, providing comprehensive client-facing support. This role combines program administration, technical assistance, contractor coordination, and data tracking to ensure high-quality building upgrades that improve energy efficiency, occupant health, and overall building performance.
The Program Administrator will support property owners, tenants and stakeholders by facilitating assessments, developing upgrade recommendations, assisting with financing and incentive navigation, overseeing contractor coordination, and ensuring quality control throughout implementation.
Services and CompensationEmployee shall receive compensation in the amount of $42,000 dollars per year total compensation for 0.5 full-time-equivalent (FTE) (represents $40.38/hr for 20 hours per week) less tax and with holdings.
The Employee may receive matching contributions for company healthcare, dental, and vision plans if they choose to join, or a health insurance stipend if they do not.
The Employee may receive matching contributions to retirement (IRA) account, up to 3% of compensation.
The SHARE Accelerator Program Administrator will serve a 3-year term. There may be additional work to expand the program.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years equivalent professional experience.
- Working knowledge of residential and/or small commercial building systems, including HVAC, insulation, ventilation, electrical, and basic health and safety measures.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency and clean energy incentives, grants, and financing programs at the utility, local, state, or federal level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with common data tracking and reporting tools (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, CRM or program management systems).
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with a diverse set of stakeholders, including property owners, contractors, and public agencies.
