Position OverviewAs a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of specialized wind turbine repair and optimization. Traveling to sites across the region, you’ll lead or support major component exchanges – ensuring minimal downtime and peak turbine performance. With your previous experience in wind energy, you’ll bring precision and expertise to every gearbox, generator, and retrofit you touch. Your work helps keep turbines turning and communities powered.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure safety for everyone involved: conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, implement protective measures, and adhere to safety regulations.
- Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems.
- Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects following established procedures.
- Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms and site conditions.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain a secure working environment.
- Gain exposure to a wide range of turbine platforms, site conditions, and team environments—ideal for technicians who thrive on variety and continuous learning.
- Prioritize safety above all else, proactively identifying hazards and taking immediate action to prevent incidents.
- Preferred wind turbine experience with hands‑on MCE work.
- Minimum one year of wind technician experience, or six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or two years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms.
- Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions.
- A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges.
- Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
- Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
- High school diploma (or equivalent), valid driver’s license, and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

We offer attractive pay packages, performance bonuses, and opportunities to support your professional development. The base pay salary range for this position is $27.43–$33.43/hr, with potential for additional variable compensation. Pay will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
