Repair Technician II (Remote, 100% Travel)
Position Overview
As a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician, you’ll lead or support major component exchanges—ensuring minimal downtime and peak turbine performance—traveling to sites across the Northwest region. Your expertise in wind turbine repair and optimization, including gearboxes, generators, and retrofits, will keep turbines turning and communities powered.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure safety for everyone involved: conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, use appropriate gear, and adhere to safety regulations.
- Perform major component exchanges (gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems).
- Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects following established procedures.
- Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms and site conditions.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality work.
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain secure working environments.
- Prioritize safety above all else, proactively identifying hazards and preventing incidents.
- Have preferred wind turbine experience with hands‑on MCE work.
- Meet at least one of the following: one year wind technician experience; six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education; or two years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms.
- Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions.
- A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges.
- Physically fit, comfortable working at heights and in various conditions.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
- Have a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Base pay: $27.43–$33.43 per hour, with potential for additional variable compensation. A $2,500 USD sign‑on bonus is offered to eligible candidates.
Physical Demands- Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Use telephones and radios for close‑range communication.
- Maintain visual acuity and color discrimination.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed; hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity required.
- Climb stairs and vertical ladders to heights of 60–100 meters; supervise work in confined spaces.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs (LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue & Emergency Descent, Confined Space).
- Participate in all training courses, including controlled descent practical exercises.
- Weight of employee, PPE, and gear shall not exceed 300 lbs; PPE may weigh up to 40 lbs.
