Join Our Team as a Locum Physician – General Medicine in Washington
Are you a dedicated general medicine physician seeking flexible, impactful opportunities to serve Veterans? We are looking for motivated professionals to step into the vital role of Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine across various locations in Washington. This position offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to veteran health outcomes while enjoying a flexible schedule and competitive compensation.
In this role, you will perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans. These interviews primarily involve medical history review and physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing—no treatment or prescribing required. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work on a PRN basis, offering flexibility with either half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
Required Skills:
Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution
Active medical license in Washington State
Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or general medicine
Experience with Compensation & Pension evaluations or similar assessments
Strong interview and physical assessment skills
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and follow procedural protocols
Nice to Have
Skills:
Prior experience with veteran health assessments
Familiarity with VA or military healthcare systems
Certification in specific medical assessments related to veterans’ benefits
Experience in telehealth or remote evaluations
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO)
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
Prior experience performing compensation and pension exams preferred but not mandatory
Active state medical license
Other Requirements:
Local candidates only; travel costs are included in compensation rates
Availability to start on or around February 2, 2026
Willingness to complete required training and perform initial exams to qualify for a bonus
No travel reimbursements for certifications or portal training prior to start
The position involves administrative follow-up work such as report submissions and addendums
