The Manuscript Division is offering an opportunity for a qualified individual at the GS-08 level to serve on a full-time, 120-day temporary promotion to the GS-09 OR a qualified individual at the GS-09 level (no promotion) to serve on a full-time 120-day detail as the Administrative Specialist in the Manuscript Division. Applicants must have one year time-in-grade at the GS-08 level to qualify for the temporary promotion to the GS-09.
Responsibilities- The Administrative Specialist manages day-to-today administrative operations and provides administrative coordination and program support to the division and is responsible for serving as an advisor on administrative matters to the Chief of the Manuscript Division, supervisors, and staff.
- In carrying out administrative responsibilities, the incumbent applies in-depth, expert knowledge of and skill in personnel management, budget implementation, travel and training coordination, time and attendance, office equipment, procurement procedures, records management, and has knowledge of Library Directives, and the applicable LC regulations and agreements, procedures, and processes.
This position reports to the Chief of the Manuscript Division.

HR, Serena, E-management; POMS eAcquisitions experience preferred) and standard office applications including Microsoft Office and Confluence. - Ability to provide exceptional customer service to supervisors, staff, and external stakeholders to the Division.
This opportunity is open to LC permanent staff who have permission from their supervisor.
Work ScheduleThis opportunity is open to permanent staff of the Library. The work schedule is Flextime, Monday thru Friday. Telework may be available two days per week.
