- Meets and greets patients and their family members who are utilizing the transportation service.
- Assists with transfer of passengers in and out of wheelchairs, in and out of vehicles, and in and out of doctor's offices. Holds umbrella in wet weather.
- Assures the appropriate personnel are aware that the passenger has arrived to the appointment and will be tended to by the office staff.
- Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during transport.
- Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
- Communicates with passengers to engage them in conversation while in route.
- Facilitates communication to appropriate staff members about the transportation and changes in transportation. Reports delays or accidents to appropriate person (Supervisor/LE Director, charge nurse, Drs. office, etc.).
- High school graduate.
- One year experience in health related facility is helpful.
- Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long term care, or must be willing to acquire.
- Must possess excellent leadership and customer service skills.
- CPR, Basic First Aid and valid Maryland driver's license.
