Yard Driver; Non-DOT

Yard Driver (Non-DOT) at Dollar Tree Stores. This role primarily moves trailers in and out of doors at the distribution center and places them in spots on the yard. The position may also transport trailers between off-site locations.

• Under the direction of the department manager and team leaders, perform required trailer switches. Most switches are urgent and critical.
• Transport trailers between off-site locations.
• Perform daily inspections of yard equipment and report all defects. Ensure units are maintained in a safe manner.
• Perform general warehouse duties as needed, including loading and unloading of trailers and use of forklift-type equipment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Must be DOT qualified with a current Class A CDL.
• Must be able to back 48’ and 53’ trailers proficiently.
• Driving record (MVR) must be acceptable.
• Ability to adapt to job duty and department changes, as required.

• See and hear adequately; ability to move distances; lifting as applicable.
• Color perception, hearing/listening abilities, carrying and dexterity.
• Ability to mount/dismount forklift or other equipment and operate a vehicle safely.
• Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting up to moderate weights.

• Reading – simple to complex; writing – simple to complex; basic math skills.
• Judgment/decision making; clerical tasks; analysis and comprehension.

• Shift work; outdoor environment; may be exposed to extreme heat or cold, noise, dirt and dust.
• Work with others and work alone; use of mechanical equipment; potential exposure to fumes/odors.
