Position: Social Services Program Associate I / DeSoto Co

Overview

This Opportunity is for a Social Services Program Associate I with a work location in DeSoto County MS.

The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services has a position available within the County Field Offices providing support to the Field Office Supervisory Staff. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi's at-risk children and families. MDCPS offers a variety of positions statewide, including social work positions providing case management services and working with potential foster families, supervisor positions providing clinical and administrative support, and agency support positions such as policy development, human resources, information technology, program management, training, and budgeting/finance.

About The Position
  • This is a non-state service, time-limited (NS-14) position with the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services. Provides transportation for children, including relocation and placement in foster homes, physician visits, and supervised parental visits. Keeps updated list of children in custody and where they are placed, teaches homemaking/parental skills and daily living tasks to families, learns to screen for risk factors and barriers, answers telephone calls, performs related or similar duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 0-2 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma). Hiring agency qualification: MUST HAVE:
Valid Mississippi Drivers License and Valid Insurance. Reliable transportation.
