Overview

Target is looking for Guest Advocates who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates support in-store and digital services and solutions and help guests shop quickly and easily at the check lanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while maintaining exceptional quality.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs and answer questions about products, services, and store features.
  • Inform guests about current promotions, store activities and events.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store, including area-specific offerings, to resolve issues and improve the guest experience.
  • Thank guests and convey appreciation for shopping at Target.
  • Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment as needed.
  • Scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service quality and accuracy.
  • Explain how to use Target App features, including Wallet; direct guests to enrol in Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, and online ordering as needed.
  • Process returns following store policies and consult with Leaders when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle stock during store hours as required.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely at all times and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as order pickup, Drive-Up orders and related returns, while complying with applicable laws and policies.
  • All other duties based on business needs.

  • Ability to use handheld scanners and other technology; work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and complete multiple tasks within time frames.
Additional basics
  • Accurately handle checkout operations and support cash office tasks as needed.
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance.
  • Ability to stay mobile during shift and work in varying temperatures and conditions (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.).
