Requirements Summary of FunctionsThe Director of Quality ensures that the organization’s products and services meet the company’s quality requirements, as well as customer and regulatory requirements for quality, safety, and reliability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for the development, implementation, and strict adherence to a quality program.
- Develops and/or reviews standards, policies, and procedures for all functions and departments involved with or related to the production of all products.
- The Director of Quality has the authority and decision-making responsibility for the shipment of any product or products and accepts responsibility for products in accordance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Coordinates and assists with customer and/or vendor inspections.
- Periodically inspects completed quality assurance and quality control checklists, forms, and other documents; randomly inspects and verifies quality assurance and quality control checks for conformance to prescribed standards.
- Develops corrective action plans and ensures timely resolution of findings.
- Day-to-day execution of Integrated Management Systems, CAPA systems, and QC testing.
- Receives and reviews all customer satisfaction surveys, customer contacts, and complaints
- The ability to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial.
- Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems.
- Ability to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory, as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics required.
- Adaptability – Ability to establish and maintain excellent interpersonal skills and work well with all levels of internal management and staff, including outside clients and vendors.
- Dependability – A perfect candidate must be highly self-motivated and organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage, and schedule daily work.
- Attention to detail is a must.

- Reviews and resolves quality assurance and quality control problems/concerns with the Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Control Manager, and others, including vendors, customers, quality assurance personnel, quality control personnel, and any personnel related to production.
- Reviews complaint trends and product/component failure analysis; reviews corrective actions with appropriate personnel.
- Prepares reports and other documentation required by regulatory agencies to support the quality function.
