Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, specialized care to critically ill and premature newborns. The ideal candidate will have Level IV NICU experience and be skilled in handling complex neonatal cases while supporting both infants and their families in a technologically advanced care environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary neonatal care team in a patient-centered, fast-paced hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns requiring intensive monitoring and treatment.
Perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with neonatologists and interdisciplinary staff.
Manage ventilators, incubators, IV lines, and other specialized neonatal equipment.
Administer prescribed medications and monitor for response or adverse effects.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
Support and educate families on infant care, treatment plans, and post-discharge needs.
Adhere to all infection control, safety, and NICU best-practice protocols.
Collaborate with respiratory therapists, dietitians, and social workers to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
Participate in neonatal resuscitations and emergency response situations.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active RN license (in good standing and compliant with NLC requirements).
Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience required.
Experience in a Level IV NICU (REQUIRED).
Well Baby/Nursery care experience required.
Certifications
Required:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Education:
BSN preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage critical neonatal conditions.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and family-centered care approach.
