Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring strong Cath Lab experience, on-call STEMI coverage, and a compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in the Cath Lab of a short-term acute care hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation
- Primary responsibility is care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology procedures
- Day shift with typical hours of 6:30 to 17:00, four 10-hour shifts per week
- On-call STEMI coverage required 7–12 days per month, including one weekend (Friday through Sunday)
- Weekend work is required as needed
- Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may be required, though floating between campuses is rare
- Cerner EMR experience is preferred
- Must be available to take STEMI call as scheduled, including nights and weekends
- Willingness to work major holidays as scheduled; must work 2 of 3 if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall during assignment
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as travelers
- All time-off requests must be included at time of application and may not be approved after submission
- Scrub dress code required in the Cath Lab
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Active MS or compact RN license at time of application (no pending licensure)
- Minimum of 2 years recent Cath Lab RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required for consideration
- Current BLS certification
- Valid driver’s license required
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher
- No local candidates within 100 miles of the facility
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
