The Position

The Embroidery/Customization Associate reports to the Supervisor/Assistant Operations Manager. Responsibilities include setting up embroidery machines, selecting pertinent tools and materials, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring that all projects are completed to clients’ specifications. This position works Monday through Friday, from 7 am–3:45 pm.

Your Day‑to‑Day
  • Customize products using embroidery, monogramming, engraving, laser, pad printing, and related equipment.
  • Review work orders to verify garment specifications, design placement, thread colors, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare garments by hooping, stabilizing, and aligning materials accurately.
  • Select and load appropriate threads, bobbins, backing, and other materials for efficient workflow.
  • Input and adjust design files in machine software, ensuring correct size, orientation, and thread sequence.
  • Operate single‑head and multi‑head embroidery machines according to company standards.
  • Inspect finished items for accuracy, tension quality, stitching consistency, and correct color usage.
  • Ensure all designs meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Identify and distinguish vendor defects from internal errors and notify supervisors promptly.
  • Correct or repair issues such as misalignment, skipped stitches, thread breaks, or incomplete stitching.
  • Trim excess threads and backing, and steam or press items to remove hoop marks and monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine cleaning, servicing, and maintenance as required.
  • Follow instructional manuals for proper troubleshooting and repair processes.
  • Report mechanical problems, inventory shortages, or equipment concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate tracking records for all work orders and completed items.
  • Package finished products according to order and shipping requirements.
  • Provide suggestions regarding design, thread/fabric selection, and placement when appropriate.
  • Assist with inventory inspections and reordering needs.
  • Train and support new team members as needed.
  • Communicate with internal teams or clients to ensure timely completion and delivery of orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Table
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1–2 years’ proven experience operating embroidery machines
  • Experience as an embroidery machine operator or similar is strongly preferred
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred)
