PGS Worldwide is seeking an experienced SMT Operator to support automated PCB assembly for high-reliability aerospace electronics. This role requires hands-on proficiency with SMT production equipment, inspection, and line operation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Skills (Top-Loaded for Indeed Optimization)1–2+ years of SMT machine operation or manufacturing machine operator experience
Ability to set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on SMT equipment
Experience running or supporting stencil printers, reflow ovens, AOI systems, X-ray, and related SMT tools
Strong understanding of SMT processes: component loading, screen printing, adhesive dispensing, soldering, and inspection
Ability to follow work instructions, read drawings, and identify PCB defects
Must be able to work independently and rotate between lines as needed
Comfortable working 2nd shift full-time
Prior experience with through-hole and surface mount assembly
Ability to hand-place SMT components when required
Strong attention to detail in visual inspection of solder joints and component alignment
Familiarity with aerospace or high-reliability electronics manufacturing
Operate SMT equipment to build complex printed circuit board assemblies
Set up machines, load feeders, and configure paste printing and adhesive dispensing
Perform AOI and visual inspection to identify solder defects, misalignment, tomb stoning, bridging, etc.
Hand place select SMT components when required
Run assembled boards through solder reflow ovens
Use hand tools, soldering tools, and inspection equipment
Follow schematics, diagrams, and visual aids to ensure product quality
Support 5S, safety, and process improvement initiatives
Work across multiple production lines with similar daily tasks
