Oldham Council is seeking a committed and compassionate Family Support Worker (Profile

B) to support children, young people and families where there are identified safeguarding concerns. This is a frontline role working directly with families where children are subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans and/or are Looked After by the Local Authority
. You will work closely with Social Workers and partner agencies to help improve outcomes for children and promote their safety, wellbeing and development.

As a Family Support Worker, you will:

• Work directly with children, young people and families, delivering practical support, advice and guidance in family homes and community settings
• Contribute to and implement individual care and support plans alongside parents, carers, social workers and partner agencies
• Carry out welfare visits, observations and assessments, recording progress accurately and professionally
• Support and supervise family time/contact sessions, ensuring children are safely conveyed to and from venues
• Maintain accurate case records and provide written and verbal contributions to multi-agency meetings, Child in Need reviews, Child Protection conference...
