Here at Dr Kershaws Hospice, we have1 trained Nurse (RGN) caring for 6 palliative/end of life patients. With short shifts or long days, regular breaks, free parking on site and a modern, stateof the art in-patient unit, we provide a good work life balance to all ourstaff, including wellbeing activities and support.
The wellbeing of our staff is key atthe Hospice and we provide, a food bank, subsidised meals, counsellor and complementary therapy as well as hold regular Nurse Forums and team social activities, across the Hospice.
We are expanding our nursing team with day shifts available with full and part time positions considered. Day shift hours include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the jobIf you are a team player with a strong can do work ethic and have 12 months UK post registration work experience and ideally have worked previously within a care setting plus you can work flexibly across all hospice services and have a full UK (manual) driving licence we are looking for you!
If you have the ability to:
Provide a consistently high standard of palliative nursing care keeping up the reputation of the Hospice
Sensitively, care for patients and their families, respecting the privacy and dignity of the patient and their families at all times
Plan, implement and evaluate patient care to formulate a comprehensive plan of care
Communicate well both verbally with your patient and their family / loved ones and also have the ability to document clear and concise notes

Mentorship qualification or experience of supporting students in practice is desirable
Main Purpose of the Job
To work in close co-operation with all hospice staff under the direction of the Nurse-in-charge responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in both the Hospice andthe community Hospice at Home service. To act as mentor to student nurses and professional visitors on placement at the Hospice. Supervising other staff as appropriate. Assuming responsibility for Nurse-in-Charge during their absence.
