Shop Manager – The Children’s Society

The Children’s Society Shop, Shaw, Greater Manchester

Hours:

30 hours per week over 7 days

Salary: £20,886.49 per annum

Benefits: 28 days holiday a year (pro rata for 30 hours), plus Bank Holidays, and other enhanced benefits on our website.

You will be working in a creative, fast‑paced retail environment, engaging with the local community and motivating your team to maximise income and net profit from donated goods.

• Lead the Shaw shop team and make a real difference to young people in England by raising the vital funds needed for our frontline work.
• Manage an Assistant Shop Manager and a diverse team of volunteers, ensuring a welcoming, positive experience for staff, volunteers and customers.
• Drive retail operations to maximise income while maintaining high standards of customer service and product presentation.
• Engage with the local community to promote the shop’s purpose and attract new volunteers and donors.

• Retail management experience.
• Great people skills and confidence working with people from all backgrounds.
• Commercial awareness and a drive to maximise income and profit.
