Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to make a full time appointment for a consultant psychiatrist to work in the Older Age Psychiatry service.

The Older Age wards are Rowan and Cedar located at Parklands House at Royal Oldham Hospital.

We aim to provide high-quality mental health care for older people with severe and enduring mental health problems, both inpatient and outpatient. Working closely with other teams and consultants, we ensure coherent and high-quality care within the Oldham area.

Our services specialise in early dementia diagnosis to support individuals to remain as healthy as possible. We also give advice and support to families of those with dementia and address moderate to severe mental health problems such as depression, bipolar disorder, delirium, and severe anxiety. Services are delivered in community buildings, clinics, specialist wards, and units at hospital sites.

Close collaboration with community services is essential to guarantee safe and effective treatment, and prompt reliable support following discharge. The consultant will play a part in ensuring seamless transitions between community care and hospital care.

We provide high-quality mental health and learning disability services, both inpatient and community, across five boroughs of Greater Manchester:
Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, and Glossop.
