WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGAs an Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support to the Finance team, focusing on Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL) functions. You will ensure the accuracy of financial records, manage supplier accounts, and assist with reconciliations and reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities General Ledger (GL) Functions- Journal preparation and entry
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Inter-company reconciliations
- Cashsweep accounting
- Process supplier invoices (stock and expense) accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform supplier account reconciliations
- Prepare and process BACS and foreign wire payments
- Post cash transactions and maintain cashbooks
- Handle supplier queries professionally and efficiently
- Provide backup for departmental duties such as switchboard cover and handling post
- Experience in Accounts Payable or finance administration (SAP or similar ERP system preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the business
- Good phone manner and interpersonal skills
- Reliable – Dependable in managing critical finance functions and supporting colleagues
- Detail-Oriented – Maintains accuracy in reconciliations, postings, and reporting
- Proactive – Takes initiative to resolve queries and improve processes
- Adaptable – Comfortable handling varied tasks, from AP duties to general office support
