Our client is a global market leader and they're looking for a talented Electronic Production Engineer to join our growing team at our global headquarters in Greater Manchester.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how our products are designed, built, and industrialised for customers worldwide.
The Role of the Production EngineerAs an Electro-Mechanical Production Engineer, you will work at the heart of their manufacturing operation, collaborating with UK and international colleagues to:
- Improve electrical and mechanical designs for manufacture, quality, and cost
- Support the introduction of new products into high-volume production
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, tooling, and assembly
- Resolve production issues using structured, data-driven problem-solving techniques
- Influence design for manufacture and automation from early development stages
You'll operate in a reactive, high-volume environment, where your ideas and expertise will have a direct impact on efficiency, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Engineer- Manufacture and support electro-mechanical assemblies in a high-volume production environment
- Apply structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Why, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis, ensuring systemic corrective actions are implemented
- Collaborate closely with Engineering Development, Manufacturing, and International teams
- Support and enhance assembly automation and sensor-based electronic systems
- Use PLM and CAD tools to manage product data and manufacturing changes
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives to continuously improve processes
They're looking for someone who combines technical excellence with a practical, hands-on mindset.
Essential Skills & Experience- Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or HND via an apprenticeship in electro-mechanical products
- Relevant industry experience will also be considered
- Strong experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing
- Proven problem-solving capability using formal methodologies
- Knowledge of continuous improvement, Lean, and Kaizen techniques
- Experience with sensor electronics, physics, and assembly automation
- Experience with PLM and CAD systems, ideally Siemens NX / Teamcenter
- Familiarity with modern manufacturing systems and high-volume production
- Analytical and detail-driven
- Collaborative and confident working cross-functionally
- Creative, practical, and solutions-focused
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, global environment
