Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Lead Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence within a specialist engineering environment. This position involves hands‑on design work, technical leadership, and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver high-performance mechanical solutions for demanding and regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, oil and gas and aerospace.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the design engineering team to achieve excellence in project delivery.
• Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components using 3D CAD software (Solid Edge).
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation for both new and existing products.
• Conduct performance evaluations and apply GD&T principles to ensure precision manufacturing.
• Collaborate with internal teams to refine specifications and deliver innovative, manufacturable solutions.
