Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Mainstream Secondary School

Full-time, long-term (Monday-Friday, term time only)

We are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a mainstream secondary school, supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 who require additional help to access the curriculum. This is a classroom-based role, ideal for someone with strong secondary experience who can support both learning and behaviour.

Must-have

• Recent experience working with secondary-aged pupils (11-16) in a UK school
• Confident supporting in-class alongside the teacher and working with small groups
• Experience supporting pupils with mild to moderate SEND or additional learning needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with pupils and staff
• Able to commit to a full-time, long-term role (Monday-Friday, term time)

Desirable:

• Level 2/3 TA/LSA qualification or a related degree
• Experience with EHCPs, intervention work or targeted academic/behaviour support
• Familiarity with strategies for ASD, ADHD, SEMH or specific learning difficulties

• Providing in-class support to identified pupils in KS3/KS4 lessons
• Delivering or supporting small-group and 1:1 interventions as directed by the SENCo/class teacher
• Helping pupils stay focused, organised and engaged with their learning
• Supporting the implementation of personalised learning plans and recording progress
