Overview
Our client, a forward-thinking educational institution located in Royton, Borough of Oldham, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full‑time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Responsibilities- Assisting with the delivery of tailored educational programmes
- Implementing behaviour‑management strategies
- Fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating closely with teaching staff to ensure the seamless integration of SEND students into the mainstream curriculum
- Providing one‑to‑one or small‑group support, assisting with lesson planning and delivery
- Participating in the development and implementation of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)
- Proven track record of working effectively with SEND students, ideally in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by this student population and ability to adapt to diverse needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents and the wider school community
- A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs, Education or a related field is an advantage, but not essential
