Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2 specialism in SEMH

What skills and experience we’re looking for

We’re seeking an experienced and inspiring teaching assistant who:

• Sets high expectations for achievement and behaviour
• Is passionate about inclusion and SEND provision
• Understands the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and can use effective strategies to support them
• Is able to relate well to children with additional needs, supporting them to regulate their feelings and emotions
• Leads by example and motivates children and colleagues
• Is creative, innovative, and committed to continuous improvement
• Is ready to take on a rewarding challenge with real impact
• Has an NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
• Has literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework
• Completed the Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (or to complete within first term)
