Seeking Resilient and Experienced Support Staff for Specialist Settings in Oldham

We are recruiting high‑calibre Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Mentors, and Behaviour Support Mentors to make a significant impact on students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across the Oldham area
. This full‑time, 5‑day‑a‑week commitment requires experienced, dedicated professionals.
- Provide targeted support to students, focusing on emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
- Implement individual behaviour plans and safety protocols effectively and consistently.
- Work alongside teaching staff to adapt activities and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
- Monitor student attendance, well‑being, and progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Help maintain a calm, orderly, and supportive learning environment in the setting.
- Show commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement.
- Possess crucial, proven expertise in behaviour management and the ability to confidently cope with complex behaviour needs
. - Have a minimum of 6 months of UK experience
. - Demonstrate previous experience in either:
- 2 or more SEMH, PRU, or Alternative Provision settings.
- Or, more than 2 years of continuous experience working in a PRU/SEMH setting.
- Be reliable, highly committed to career development, and genuinely attentive and engaged with both students and staff.
- Be available to work 5 days a week
. - Ideally hold a Level 2+ UK Teaching Assistant qualification
.
- A full UK Driving Licence and access to a car (essential for accessing local settings).
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
