Quantity Surveyor

Overview

Following our client’s successful launch of their Newbury unit earlier this year, they are expanding their commercial team. The Newbury team has secured long‑term contracts beyond budget, creating a stable order book for a bright future.

Quantity Surveyor – Full time (part‑time option available). Experience working directly with labour teams and time sheets.

• Actively tender, estimate and measure work onsite.
• Prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting commercial risks.
• Prepare cost value reconciliations, identify risks and opportunities for correct contract planning.
• Work with the Contracts Manager to agree productivity labour targets and issue incentives.
• Build strong client and supplier relations; discuss variations and progress, seeking mutual solutions.
• Complete and analyse weekly site reporting with adequate cost information (labour rates, budgets, progress, quality, safety).

• Proven experience in estimating and surveying, from tender through to final account.
• Experience managing value of works up to £3 million annually.
• Knowledge of painting, plastering, brickwork, roofing, civils or new‑build QS background preferred.
• Strong commercial, analytical and accurate approach with entrepreneurial spirit.
• Collaboration skills – honest, organised, a people person who thrives with clients, trade teams and colleagues.
