Full Time with Benefits
- Functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes, with focus on expanding knowledge and skills and providing direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team for a variety of complex patients.
- Directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
- Coordinates patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.
- Deliver nursing practices according to up-to-date evidence-based research, policies, and standards of care to ensure safe and individualized patient care.
- Performs comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; develops and coordinates a plan of care that is patient/family focused and encompasses the continuum of care.
- Communicates and implements the plan of care; provides ongoing communication with patient/family and the health care team.
- Administers medications using current technology to ensure safe delivery of medications.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transition and continuity of care.
- Utilizes critical thinking to achieve desired patient outcomes and identifies ethical issues in the practice setting.
- Maintains competencies, certifications, and continuing education to meet facility accreditation or licensing requirements.
- Adheres to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses with Interpretive Statements and hospital competencies.
- Lifts, pushes/pulls, and stands for required durations in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Education:
Minimum of an associate degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing; BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire (certain terms apply per union contracts). - Experience:
Six months or more of relevant nursing experience, or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program. - Licenses &
Certifications:
Current and valid Registered Nurse license; BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire. - Competencies:
Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong accountability, teamwork, ongoing education, and patient-focused care.
Skills and Abilities
Preferred
- National Certification in the area of specialty when eligible.
- Current and valid RN license to work at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
- BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
Minimum rate of $45.73 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay at the time of posting and does not reflect the full value of our total rewards package.
