The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians with all patient care.

• Measuring and recording vital signs
• Recording patient interview, history and chief complaint
• Providing patient education regarding office policies, medications, disease management, home treatments and special diets
• Assisting the physician with exams and minor office surgery
• Preparing patients for examinations and performing routine screening tests
• Changing dressings, applying bandages, removing sutures and other first aid procedures
• Using CPR skills when required
• Maintaining supplies, equipment, stocking, and sterilization of instruments
• Practicing OSHA safety standards
• Performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation
• Triage patient phone calls/review prescriptions with patient as directed by physician
• Perform other duties as assigned which support the essential functions of the job
• Perform phlebotomy
• Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior
• Lifts, pushes, and pulls as required; stands for as long as needed

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with varying populations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures

• Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician

Compensation and Benefits:
Minimum rate of $21.33 hourly. HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
