Job Summary: This position will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components for crane structures and related equipment. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing high‑quality welds on structural and mechanical components, inspecting and repairing crane parts, and ensuring all work meets safety and industry standards. The ideal candidate has experience with MIG, TIG, or stick welding, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
Key Responsibilities- Perform welding and fabrication on crane structures, booms, and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise welding.
- Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, depending on the job requirements.
- Inspect and repair structural components to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Operate welding equipment and other tools, such as grinders, torches, and cutting machines.
- Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with crane technicians, mechanics, and engineers to diagnose issues and provide welding solutions.
- Follow all workplace safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in welding preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of welding experience, preferably in crane manufacturing, repair, or heavy equipment.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with metal fabrication and structural welding.
- Knowledge of industry safety regulations (OSHA, ANSI, AWS standards).
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in various conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent is a plus.
