Job Title:

Mechanic Job Description

As a Mechanic, you will perform scheduled basic truck and trailer preventative maintenance, install wheel assemblies and tires, complete basic electrical and trailer repairs, and diagnose and perform repairs on basic trailer tracking systems (RCOM).

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled basic truck PMS.

  • Perform scheduled trailer basic preventative maintenance.

  • Install wheel assemblies and tires.

  • Complete basic electrical and trailer repairs.

  • Diagnose and repair basic trailer tracking systems (RCOM).

Essential Skills
  • Experience in diesel mechanics and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in repair, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and read blueprints and schematics.

  • Knowledge of brake systems, diesel engines, welding, and electrical systems.

  • Experience with heavy equipment, engine maintenance, and general labor.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to identify brake components and operation of class 8 air brakes.

  • Skill in identifying irregular tire wear and underinflated tires.

  • Self-motivation and eagerness to learn.

  • Welding skills or previous welding experience.

  • Thermo King certification is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate-controlled environment with shifts available as Tractor Tech L1 in the afternoon (2:00pm — 10:30pm).

This is a Contract position based out of Olathe, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $22.00/hr.
