Overview

Seasonal Landscape Yard Sales Crew Member with DCA Outdoor (KAT Wholesale Outdoor) in the Kansas City area. Seasonal role anticipated through end of November/beginning of December based on needs.

• Assist Customers:
  Greet and assist customers in the yard, guiding them through our selection of green goods and hard goods to help them find what they need.
• Yard Merchandising:
  Daily arrangement and upkeep of landscape materials to create an attractive outdoor display.
• Product Questions:
  Engage with customers, answer questions about plants and outdoor materials, and offer landscaping advice.
• Pull & Load Orders:
  Gather and load daily orders of bulk hard goods and green goods into customers 0vehicles with accuracy.
• Work Safely:
  Follow safety guidelines while handling materials and operating equipment to maintain a safe workspace.

• Actively approach customers to understand project needs and preferences to determine product needs.
• Process daily transactions and order requests.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on green goods (plants, shrubs, trees) and hard goods (mulch, stone, pavers) based on customer needs.
• Walk customers through the yard, explain product features, benefits, and applications.
• Answer questions regarding pricing, availability, and product specifications.
• Move and organize products to be accessible and easy to view.
• Maintain knowledge of all green goods and hard goods on hand, including features, benefits, uses, and care requirements.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently to move and load materials.
• Ensure proper weight distribution and load security for customer loads.
• Double-check orders for accuracy before loading.
• Be aware of surroundings and potential hazards (uneven terrain, moving equipment, overhead obstacles).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety policies.

• Required:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent
• Required:
  
  1+ years in a customer service environment
• Required:
  
  Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Preferred:
  Experience in landscaping, nursery, garden center, or related industry
• Preferred:
  Bilingual in Spanish and English

• Hourly Range: $18.00-$22.00 depending on experience

• Seasonal role with anticipated dates through November/December based on seasonal needs at KAT Wholesale in Olathe, Kansas.
• Applications may include completing a Culture Index survey.
