Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Schedule Details: Every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday), holiday coverage required
Location: Olathe, KS (Facility: The University of Kansas Health System)
Position Overview: Join a dynamic cardiac care team specializing in the management of acute cardiac patients, post-invasive procedures, and complex medical conditions such as chest pain, COVID-19, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, and cardiac medication initiation and titration. As a Telemetry RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care within a comprehensive cardiac unit.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using GE heart monitors and other advanced vital sign machinery.
- Administer medications and interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Respond rapidly to patient changes and emergencies, demonstrating critical thinking and clinical judgment.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and timely.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable with a commitment to obtain BSN within five years of hire. - Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hospital RN experience, preferably within a cardiac or acute care setting.
- Licensing: Kansas Registered Nurse License (KS RN) required.
- Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.

Experience with TR band and cardiac monitoring equipment is required.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Competitive salary range: $33 - $40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- Shift differentials:
