Underwriting Specialist OR Executive Underwriter- MM Technology

Zurich Middle Markets is hiring an Experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter in its Middle Market Technology P&C team. The role will serve as a customer advocate focusing on improving the customer experience by understanding unique risks and offering the best end‑to‑end solutions for Middle Market P&C Technology insurance needs.

• Develop and maintain relationships with broker partners and customers across all industries in support of business objectives.
• Leverage Private Equity underwriting acumen across risk assessment, exposure evaluation and pricing to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business.
• Work collaboratively across business units including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary and technical underwriting to gain extensive knowledge in a growing, innovative industry.
• Use technical underwriting, negotiation and interpersonal skills to grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners in an assigned territory.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years experience in underwriting or market‑facing area.
• or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years experience in claims or underwriting support area.
• or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associate degree and 1 or more years experience in underwriting or market‑facing area.
• or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associate degree and 4 or more years experience in claims or underwriting support area.
• Knowledge of lines of business and legal/regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years experience in underwriting or market‑facing area.
• or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years experience in claims or underwriting support area.
• or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associate degree and 3 or more years experience in underwriting or market‑facing area.
• or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associate degree and 8 or more years experience in claims or underwriting support area.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working under time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Established relationships with technology‑focused broker partners.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

The combined salary range for this position is $75,000 – $165,000. The range for the Underwriting Specialist is $75,000 – $125,000, with a 10% short‑term incentive bonus. The range for the Executive Underwriter is $98,500 – $165,000, with a 15% short‑term incentive bonus.

Hybrid working opportunity available from Pittsburgh, Indiana, Overland Park, KS, St. Louis, Cleveland, Iowa or Nebraska. Full time schedule. Employment sponsorship not offered.
