About the Position

As a Therapist joining our team, you will be part of Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities coast to coast. You will embrace a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier, working in a fast‑paced yet supportive environment that offers inpatient and outpatient programming for adults (18+) facing mental health and addiction challenges. Cottonwood Springs is a behavioral health hospital located in Olathe, KS, and we provide inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, detox, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

The role supports clinical, operational, and administrative excellence and reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
  • Display active involvement in the treatment planning process.
  • Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
  • Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources.
  • Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment.
  • Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff members.
  • Demonstrate active communication with team members.
  • Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
  • Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de‑escalation skills.
  • Act as a member of the team when a crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety.
  • Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills.
  • Assist the care coordination department as requested.
  • Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards.
  • Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality.
  • Complete releases appropriately.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abide by those standards.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws.
  • Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after‑care planning treatment processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a relevant state licensure required.
  • Accepting Psychologist with a master's degree in psychology.
  • Accepting Married and Family Therapist (MFT) Master's degree with License.
  • Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
  • Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.
Additional Requirements
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.
