Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Olathe, Kansas. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the company's financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support reliable financial reporting.

- Process high-volume invoicing with precision and efficiency.

- Manage cash applications to streamline accounts receivable processes.

- Assist with month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

- Compile and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.

- Utilize Excel VBA and advanced formulas to optimize accounting workflows.

- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and systems.

- Generate and review financial statements to ensure compliance with regulations.

- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Requirements - Proven experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

- Proficiency in handling high-volume invoicing and cash applications.

- Strong knowledge of financial reporting processes and month-end close procedures.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VBA and complex formulas.

- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data accurately.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills for handling multiple tasks.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
