Job Summary

An internship puts you directly in the workplace. You develop your skills, acquire new knowledge, and expand your knowledge of local government in an organizational setting while also getting hands-on experience for your future career.

This role works primarily on weekdays, but weeknight and weekend availability are required for attendance at relevant events.

Hiring Range: $15.50 to $17.00 hourly, depending on qualifications

The Library Programming Intern assists in planning and implementing diverse programming initiatives. They gain hands-on experience in various aspects of library services and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

* Assists in the planning, organization, and implementation of a wide variety of exceptional library programming to meet the objectives of the library and community.

* Provides efficient, courteous public service to a diverse customer population and presents a positive image of the library in attitude, appearance, and performance of duties.

* Complete special projects in support of the Library Programming Team.

* Connects with customers outside of the library at community and outreach events.

* Maintains confidentiality in all customer and staff interactions.

Qualifications

Experience:

One year of experience working with youth is required.

Education:

A high school diploma is required. Preference is given to college students currently pursuing a degree in education, recreation, library, community health, hospitality - event planning, or a related field.

Licenses &

Certifications:

A valid driver's license and favorable driving record are required.

Language:
Proficiency with verbal and written English language is required. Additional proficiency with Spanish and American Sign Language preferred.
