Job duties:This is a position in the Clerk of the District Court Office as the Lead Worker and Appellate Clerk within the Records Management Department. This is a highly responsible, complex, confidential position. Professionalism is required in all aspects of this position. Work requires competence, discretion, and courteous interactions with court stakeholders. Applicants should be detail‑oriented, understand court proceedings and/or legal terminology and be able to prioritize and communicate well.
Duties will include records, billing, and appellate work as well as other duties as assigned.
Graduation from high school and one‑year experience in clerical work.
Knowledge, Abilities andSkills:
- Knowledge of court procedures and policies, forms of legal documents, and legal factors pertaining to the court.
- Ability to understand operation, functions, and scope of authority of assigned activity.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, court polices, and procedures.
- Ability to maintain a variety of complex records and prepare standard reports from such records.
- Computer data entry.
- Courteous, professional and cooperative.
- Knowledge of the court system or legal experience is a plus.
