EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary Part-Time

PURPOSE OF POSITION: This is a seasonal/part-time position in the Ballpark Department that exists to provide team leadership to the employees that are working at the City of Tuttle’s Schrock Park during the spring baseball season. The work is performed under the general direction of the Parks and Recreation Coordinator. This position will perform the essential functions of the Concession/Ballpark Employees, while also monitoring the performance of the employees, creating the schedule, and making sure there is proper coverage at all the games and tournaments.

This position requires the availability to work evenings and some weekends.

SUMMARY OF
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

• Scheduling
  :
  Create the shift schedule for each baseball game and tournament week to ensure full coverage.
• Ordering Supplies
  :
  Take daily inventory of concession supplies to be able to supply an order of needed products in a timely manner.
• Management/Supervision
  :
  Manage and supervise a team of employees.
• Gate Admission
  :
  Monitors/takes admission at the little league baseball games. Handles cash and electronic money taking devices. Must be able to do basic math, count change, and communicate with patrons at the park. May be required to stop spectators from entering the party without paying.
• Concession
  :
  Monitors/takes food and drink requests at the concession stand during the little league baseball games. Handles cash and electronic money taking devices. Must be able to do basic math, count change and communicate clearly. Food prep and service in accordance with Health Department regulations and guidelines; perform proper food handling procedures. Correctly operate all food service equipment.
• Communication
  :
  Communicates with other staff and ballpark patrons in a courteous and professional manner.
• Facility Upkeep
  :
  Monitors and participates in the daily and continuous cleaning of concession stand, gate area, restrooms, and grounds. Daily trash removal from concession stand and other common areas.
• Policy and Procedure
  :
  Enforces and adheres to the City of Tuttle’s policies and procedures as an employee of the City and communicate them as needed. Also adheres, as well as communicates, the rules and regulations of the Tuttle Athletic Sports Association (TASA), who host the games held at Schrock Park.
• Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MUST BE 18-YEARS OLD OR OLDER
• Management skills/experience. Dependable, responsible, courteous, good communication skills, accurate cash handling skills, good math skills, good work ethic, ability to lift at least 20 pounds, a positive attitude, a sense of pride and accomplishment, and be able to work without close supervision. Must be eligible for employment in the United States.

WORKING CONDITIONS/

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work in less than desirable weather conditions; cold, wind, heat, light rain.
• Some exposure to disgruntled patrons; must be able to handle tactfully.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to talk and hear.
• Subject to working in a confined area in close proximity to others.
• Subject to frequently walking on tournament weekends.
• Use of hands and fingers to handle or operate objects; reach with hands and arms.
• Low degree of concentration required to fulfill essential job duties.
