Location: Pauls Valley

We are currently looking for a Full Time Home Maintenance Carpenter to join our Aging Home Maintenance Team team located at the Pauls Valley Area Office.

Summary:

Responsible for basic carpentry, installing and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items using different types of materials including, wood, plywood, wallboard, while using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities:

* Basic plumbing repairs to the home and installation or replacement of commodes, plumbing fixtures and hot water heaters.

* Construction of home accessibility for elders such as ramps, steps and handrails. Installing and replacing storm doors or doorknobs.

* Complete job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with divisional and tribal policies and procedures. Ability to work alone and to be self-motivated and organized.

* During home visits, inspects elder's residence and the premises for minor home safety hazards and corrects immediately or reports needed repairs to supervisor; makes written recommendations to program manager based on assessments.

* Weatherization of individual homes.

* During home visits, inspects elder's residence and the premises for minor home safety hazards and corrects immediately or reports needed repairs to supervisor.

* Submits invoices, reports and personnel related administrative duties to be complete and accurate, on time and in accordance with division and tribal policies and procedures. Completes Accident/Incident Report promptly.

* Keeps manager promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action in problem solving.

* Enforces general cleanliness and maintenance of home maintenance facilities. Maintains a clean work truck and tool inventory that is updated and safe.

* Maintains distribution and use of supplies and equipment to maintain long term usage of supplies.

* Knows the process and procedures of program services.

* Prepares the layout of the project. Estimates height, width, length and other proportions, selects materials and sends supply list to program manager.

* Works with variety of materials, such as wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall; utilizes chisels, planes, saws, drills and sanders to repair and erect structures, joins materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives.

* Works on top of ladders;
Uses levels, rulers, and framing squares to ensure everything is level and secure.

* Must maintain and ensure upkeep of all equipment and vehicles assigned.

* Ensures a safe working environment to reduce the risk and injury and accidents.

* Participates in providing ongoing feedback and establishing performance expectations.

* Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
