Salary Range: $16.50 - $17.50 Hourly
Performs general cleaning and minor maintenance duties on housing units, depending on the repair work needed. Performs minor construction and repairs on units. Maintains home lawns and public areas. Upkeep on assigned company vehicles to maintain good working condition, keeping the vehicle clean and orderly, tags kept current, tire replaced according to wear and policy, and oil changes are done in a timely manner.
Maintains equipment in a clean, orderly and functional condition.
- Be able to show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position.
- Maintenance experience requirement of more than two years and graduation from high school.
- Ability to use hand and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walkways.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
- Work with tenants, officials, staff and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to acquire additional-related job skills within three to six months of on-the-job training.
- Lift and carry objects weighing from 25 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to accept corrective criticism and respond with a degree of acceptability to correct issues in a non‑defensive manner.
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repair methods.
- Understanding of cleaning methods, lawn care, and groundskeeping.
- Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of hand tools and power tools.
- Awareness of workplace safety standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with housing maintenance schedules, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and minor construction,
- Using hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively.
- General cleaning, painting, and landscaping tasks.
- Strong organizational skills to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records and report maintenance issues.
- Communication skills for interacting with tenants, staff, and supervisors.
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Work independently with minimal supervision or as a part of a team
- Ability to respond appropriately to constructive criticism and improve performance.
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with tenants, staff, and the public.
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and acquire new maintenance skills within a short training period.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varied weather conditions.
- Maintain assigned equipment, vehicles, and tools in clean, safe, and functional condition.
