Basic Purpose
Responsible for security of and access control to National Guard facilities and compounds in conjunction with the current Force Protection Condition (FPCON) as a CLEET certified Armed Security Officer.
ResponsibilitiesControls access to facility by verifying identity and purpose of individuals seeking entrance to installation
Provide identification check at gate entrance; properly maintain log on all visitors; provide visitor passes for authorized visitors; greet and assist visitors and vendors; keep proper count of individuals within the installation
Monitor facility using video camera system, alarms, and personal inspection
Physically check each door and vault to ensure they are locked; check armory, facility, and outbuildings for intruders; check video monitors on a regular basis
Provide security to the installation including performing identification checks and vehicle searches. Deny entrance when proper identification is not provided; log information and notify the duty supervisor of unauthorized access attempts
Perform random vehicle searches as warranted by FPCON level and probable cause
Provide direction and assistance to individuals seeking entrance; relay information and refer callers to appropriate personnel. Notify Base Defense Operations Center if assistance is warranted
Prepare documentation and daily logs for all incidents and/or security violations or concerns
Supervise the security officers at Will Rogers Air National Guard Base
Provide overall direction for quality performance
Develop shift rotations, manning of locations, counsel individuals, and submit requests for supplies and equipment
Maintain a current Armed Security Guard License with CLEET
Attend CLEET mandated training per year
Manage key control program to ensure accountability of facility keys; conduct key inventory as required
This is the leadership level
Education and ExperienceTwo years and six months of experience in security or law enforcement work or direct care of juveniles in a secure residential facility.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and CompetenciesKnowledge of routine security practices; ability to follow oral and written instructions; give clear and concise directions; make oral and written reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships; effectively evaluate emergency situations; knowledge of supervisory principles and practices and the ability to supervise the work of others.
Special RequirementsLicenses/Certificates required
:
Possess a current Armed Security Guard License through CLEET.
Standing for long periods of time
Work in all weather conditions
Able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds
Serves a 12 month trial period
Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check
Contingent on passing pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
T3 (secret) security clearance (eligibility for national positions shall be granted only to persons who are U.S. citizens)
Federal position which is contingent on continuous federal funding
Contingent on passing a physical agility test (PAT) within the required time limit, and signing a PAT agreement. Minimum physical agility standards include: weapon retention techniques, intermediate weapon (expandable baton) performance for 15 seconds, handcuffing technique within 2 minutes, 21 pushups in 2 minutes, 29 sit-ups in 2 minutes. Complete a 1.5 mile walk within 31:30 mins or a 1 mile run within 13:30 mins or a 300 meter sprint in 81 seconds.

Copy of CLEET license
Available to work if called in due to an emergency
Employee will be considered essential personnel (required to work during inclement weather)
Must maintain a valid driver’s license
